Starlet.

Hello Everyone!

It's me again! I'm trying to make up for the post I missed last week so I bring to you another one! Let's get right into it shall we? This is what I like to call a "power look." Now, what is this so-called power look you ask? It's this awesomely stylish yet easy to put together outfit that you can wear on so many occasions! You could wear something like this to class, on casual Friday at the office or you can wear it out at night! It's composed of two amazing pieces that I think are essential to have in one's closet; a t-shirt and a pencil skirt. My pencil skirt is very fitted and it goes past my knee. I can wear this either high-waisted, as seen in this post, or I can wear it lower as well. Not to mention, this skirt is so comfortable and that's one of the reasons that it is so versatile!

Style Tip: Never substitute comfort for style, if you aren't comfortable in what you are wearing, chances are you won't feel confident either. To make this look more interesting I chose this adorable tee with the fabulous Marilyn Monroe on it. It is pretty oversized so you can totally wear it with leggings and a beanie, but I paired it with the skirt and tied it up to the side to give it a little edge and sexiness. I also wore a elegant statement necklace to really spruce it up. As for my other accessories I wore black nylons and these adorable cheetah Mary Jane wedges. You could also add a blazer of any color to this outfit to make it more sophisticated, I chose to wear my mothers fur coat because of the cold air! There is so much to this outfit that makes it awesome, yet it's so effortless.

I decided to give my hair a nice blowout and parted it down the side. I put the tiniest bit of texturizing cream just at the ends as well. To match my amazing outfit, I went with this beautiful make-up look. Before I get into how I did that I have a special announcement to make! Recently I teamed up with Studio Gear Cosmetics and became a partner of theirs! They sent me three items that were key in this make-up look today! I am so excited to be working with them and to have the opportunity to take this awesome jump in my blogging career! Thank you Studio Gear!!

For my foundation routine, I used Revlon PhotoReady foundation in the shade "shell." I swear by this make-up and it is light and doesn't leave me feeling cake-y. Next I used my new Studio Gear "Hidden Agenda Concealer" in the tone light medium. This stuff really works and covers my imperfections with just a little concealer. I set my face with translucent powder by Physicians Formula and then contoured my face with Milani Bronzer in the shade Golden. For my eyes I began with a primer to hold the shadow. Then for the base color I used Too Faced "Velvet Revolver." To add dimension in my crease I used a light brown shadow. Then I used "Snakebite" from the Naked 2 palette in the crease and my outer corner. To darken the edges I blended "Exclusive Shade" by Too Faced in as well. For the inner corners of my eyes and my highlight I used Urban Decay's "Booty Call." To line my eyes I used my Studio Gear Black Cake Eyeliner. This goes on like a shadow but has awesome pigment. I filled in my brows with Benefit's "Gimme Brow" gel and went over my lashes with two coats of mascara. As for my lips, I used the ever-so-creamy Studio Gear "Pink Blush" lipstick. This really finished off the look and brings it together. I hope you like the make-up and I really recommend checking out Studio Gear Cosmetics! To get 10% off your purchase use the code GREYSKIES13. Thanks again Studio Gear!!

I hope you really enjoyed this look, please let me know what you think! Do you have a "Power Look" you think is awesome? Show me! You can email me the look at whengreyskiesru@gmail.com or post it on the Facebook page "When Grey Skies Are You"! Please take a couple of minutes to watch our fabulous video to get a close up of the make-up! The song to go along with it, "The Real Thing" by Lisa Stansfield, really matches up nicely with the video and is also one of my favorites!
