Catch O' The Day

Welcome back everyone!

Last week I had the treat of meeting Julia in Boston to do a little reunion shoot and grab some lunch! We both missed the city so much and we were craving to go take some pictures. It was a gorgeous day up until we were leaving… ironic? I think not! So we headed over to the seaport and wharf area, somewhere we've never really taken pictures and had some fun by the sea! Make sure to check out the VIDEO to go with this post! :)

For my outfit, I went with a nautical feel, quite European almost in my opinion. If we had access to the Amalfi Coast, you know Julia and I would be there! I knew we would be down by the water so I made sure to bring my sun hat! This was a great piece to inspire the whole look. I also had these striped, wide legged pants that were my grandmother's. They were made by Donna Ricco and they are fabulously comfortable. Next, I paired them with this camera printed cotton shirt.

When mixing prints, things can get a little tricky. One of the elements that helped in this pairing is a similar color hue. Next, the pants are obviously thin stripes, so having the spread out pattern of the shirt offsets the pants.

As for accessories, I added my denim jacket to bring in a relaxed retro feel and just a little color! I also chose this coral cross body for another pop and splash of color. My shoes were just comfortable sandals with a heel, giving me some height and allowing for the pants to really be streamlined. Lastly, I wore this gorgeous necklace that my mother lent me. Its a beautiful two toned stone and is just simple yet different enough to go with this outfit.

Now onto the hair and make-up. For my hair, I sprayed it all over with texturizing spray and let it air dry. Being by the ocean, amps up the "wave" factor, pun intended. My make-up was inspired by my mother's necklace. I wanted to bring those beautiful colors out. I kept my face matte, with bronzer and light blush on my cheeks. I wore a neutral smokey eye with black liner on top and just a touch of blue eyeliner on the bottom lash line. Then I went in with orange lip liner and lined my lips for a bright base. Next, I put MAC's matte lipstick in Dangerous on top. I added just a little more orange on top of the red color to soften the look.

This whole day was so much fun, there were so many beautiful things to see and of course awesome pictures to take! We loved all of the boats and old ships docked nearby where we were shooting!

As we headed over to lunch, we stopped at Columbus Park over by the North End and took a few shots. I love the outfit against the green. Both settings are gorgeous and each send a different vibe. By the water, this outfit says nautical and airy. Against the foliage, I feel as though I should be gardening and it's bright. I love when nature and fashion go hand in hand.
