Hello Readers!

I hope all of my fellow New Englanders are enjoying the recent spike in temperature and humidity! As much as I've been waiting for it, I can't say that I am too fond of the summer heat when my hair goes up in frizz the second I walk out the door! So, with that said, it is definitely time to lessen the layers and break out those shorts. Please check out the video look-book to go along with this post!

For today's look, I was really looking for something light and easy, yet look pulled together and sharp. I recently found these adorable white linen shorts at Forever 21. I love that they are high waisted and not super short! Being almost 20 years old, I think wearing appropriate length shorts is a must. Some say, "If you got it, flaunt it." Well, this is true! No doubt, show those beautiful legs, but I think having a visible inseam will help you facilitate the effect. Trust me, you'll thank me later! Next, I paired the shorts with a chambray shirt! With the sleeves rolled up, this gives off a casual and relaxed vibe but still adds a conservative dimension since it is tucked in.

I also added a cheetah patent leather belt that defined the waist and brought in a little "shine." For my jewelry, I chose my favorite necklace and a pair of knot earrings. As for my shoes, I paired this look with my gorg BCBG sandals.

My make-up was very simple, complete with bronzer, blush and defined brows. On my eyes I used a brown and rose gold colored hue to warm up the eyes. I also switched it up and used navy blue eyeliner on the outer half of my lid. My lipstick was "Twilight Nude" from Clinique. I also lightly wrapped my hair around my curling barrel in two inch sections away from my face to give me a tousled wave.

Incorporating the chambray shirt in this look is what makes the outfit look relaxed, but since I paired it with tailored and refined pieces, I think overall it looks pulled together and chic. This style is also very appropriate for all ages. Take away the shorts and add a pencil skirt for the office. Take away the skirt and pair it with white jeans instead. Turn heads with your summer look in every scene from cookout to Friday morning meeting.

As my special guest, my dog Owen decided to sit in for a couple of shots! He was very excited to be a part of our shoot for about five minutes and then he went after the bowl of chips my sister was holding! Nevertheless he is so cute and I was happy to get a couple of good pics with him!

Check back in next week with WGSAY to see what's in store!

Greyfully Yours,
K
