While It's Hot

Think Jane Birkin, 1978. Long wavy (and sort of frizzy) hair and loose separates to make a totally stunning and effortless look.

Jane was my inspiration for this week to create a 70's outfit. This weather has been H-O-T hot and it's almost unbearable. Therefore, I chose nothing but breezy material to help keep me cool.

To get this outfit, I started with this awesome jumpsuit that I found at Marshall's last spring. The pattern is just delicate enough that it's there and the wide leg really streamlines your body. Legs for days! The top of the jumpsuit is actually a halter top style and has a gorgeous low back with a dolphin tail detail. I decided to spice it up by layering this crochet short sleeve top over the jumpsuit. This has a dolphin tale cut too in the back so you get a cute little cut out showing a tiny bit of skin.

As for accessories, I kept them really minimal. I wore a chunky bronze chain and a velvet sea foam green bracelet from Anthropologie. I also had on my two favorite bracelets that I never take off. For my shoes, I wore my BCBG Paris sandals with a little bit of heel to help get the length of the pant.

As for my hair I let it dry naturally 50% and then I used my L'Oreal TXT It spray that adds waves. Lastly, I braided the hair and let that sit for about 10 minutes and got this awesome 1/2 frizz 70's hair! My makeup was very natural except for the eyes. I wanted them to appear bigger so I lined the top of my lid with brown gel liner and then just above that I used gold eyeliner to really make the eyes pop!

As summer is coming to a close shortly enough, test out those rompers and jumpsuits and see what kind of cool combo you can come up with!! To get a Jane Birkin-esque look like mine, go for loose and wide leg things that you can layer.
