This cold weather is means for a heavy wool coat. This one is my "statement coat" and is perfect for those windy and chilly days! Recently, I have seen the plaid coat trend everywhere. Some are oversized, understated plaid, bright colors... the list can go on! You can find coats like these at H&M, Zara, Madewell and one of my new favorite brands, 424Fifth at Lord&Taylor! Shop that collection HERE!!
My coat is vintage Lord&Taylor and is a really thick wool. The length is also one of its best features because it adds to the warmth! To see a full description, visit my post from last year (Throwback Thursday!) HERE
I paired the coat with two, yes that's right, two turtlenecks. The under layer is my favorite grey turtleneck and since it was quite chilly, I layered a black one over it! I did pull the grey collar over the black one to create the illusion of a color blocked version. To emphasize the gorgeous colors in the jacket, I wore these maroon jeggings.
Since the coat is pretty long and goes right to the knees, I wore my leather cut out heels to not only lengthen my leg, but to dress up the look without being too over the top. The trick to wearing cutout shoes in the winter? Don't be afraid to wear socks with them! Seriously, it's a great touch and will keep your toes warm!
Of course, I had to have The Street tote bag on my shoulder all day to carry all of the necessary items that a girl needs. With these cold months, you can still look very pulled together and stay warm! Thank you for reading and happy shopping!!
