Take care of yourself, you deserve it.

Last week I had my wisdom teeth out (all four, *shudders*) and then just as I was getting over the pain and sensitivity of my teeth, I came down with the flu. Just a case of bad luck, but I was feeling pretty down and out about it. I have never watched so much Netflix and eaten that much applesauce in such a short amount of time. Thinking back, maybe I had it made! Lol! So, what do my ailments have to do with anything? Well, truly nothing, but the perspective of taking care of oneself and others has to do with everything.

It goes hand in hand with "You don't know what you got, until it's gone." Your health, physical, mental  and whichever state you can think of, is majorly important. I'm not just speaking of medicine, because that's also crucial when you are ill, but I'm pointing at before the ailments arrive, throughout and after too. So just what can you do to keep things up and running? Eat (and eat a lot, don't be afraid to indulge once in a while). Sleep and get rest. Read, jump, paint, knit, act, sing, drive, sip tea. Whether you believe it or not, all of those things? They're positive and good for the mind, body and soul. That's what taking care of yourself is. Check up on yourself, ask how you are. Then, when you feel those happy juices flowing through your veins (non-alcoholic), ask how others in your life are. That little question, "How are you?" sounds minor, but truthfully it isn't. A little goes a long way.

My favorite movie is Pretty Woman with the gorgeous Julia Roberts. In the movie, her and her best friend Kit DeLuca always say, "Call me when you're through, take care of you." Think about that for a second… take care of you!

For this look, I wanted something feminine and easy. I dug through my closet the other day and discovered an old purchase, this lace slip from Zara. I originally bought it to wear for this exact outfit, but I never found a sweater like this until another recent visit to Zara. Can you tell that is my favorite store? To make things more modern, I added the oversized clutch and the gold plait necklace. Then, I had to wear this gorgeous floppy hat. My shoes are Report from the fabulous Piperlime after Christmas sale and I absolutely adore these boots. Even keeping things simple in this outfit, the look is refined and chic.
I really encourage you all to watch the "Lookbook" to go with this post! A 360 degree view of this whole look. Find it HERE and subscribe to my YouTube channel!! Also, you can click below:)
